Nós Imeachta maidir le gearáin a dhéanamh

Mar phobal scoile, déanfaimid gach aon iarracht gan cúiseanna gearáin a chothú ach tuigimid gur daoine daonna muid ar fad agus ‘nach mbíonn saoi gan locht’. Déanfaimid iarracht deighleáil le gearáin ar bith, le meas agus lamháltais againn dá chéile agus ar mhaithe le cách. Tuigimid an gá le prósiéis a bheith ann i leith gearáin ar bith,

Má tá buairt ar bith nó gearán ag tuismitheoir faoi rud ar bith a bhaineann lena bpáiste nó le cúrsaí scoile go ginearálta ba choir dó/di:

Teagmháil a dhéanamh leis an MÚINTEOIR RANGA ar dtús leis an ngearán a phlé & le teacht ar réiteach más féidir.

Déanfar gach iarracht i gcónaí teacht ar réiteach  ar mhaithe leis an dalta agus is annamh nach féidir fadhbanna a réiteach ag an gcéim seo.

Sa chás nach féidir leis an tuismitheoir teacht ar réiteach leis an múinteoir ranga, ba chóir dó/di teagmháil a dhéanamh leis an bPríomhoide d’fhonn an gearán a phlé agus teacht ar réiteach.

Sa chás eisceachtúil nach bhfuil an tuismitheoir sásta le toradh na gcruinnithe luaite thuas mar nach bhfil réiteach ar an ngearán sin, is féidir leis an tuismitheoir an gearán a ardú le Cathaoirleach Bhord Bainistíochta na scoile.

Má tá an gearán fós gan réiteach agus má’s mian leis an tuismitheoir an gearán a thógáil níos faide ba cheart dó/di an gearán a chur i scríbhinn chuig Cathaoirleach an Bhoird Bainistíochta.

Mura féidir an gearán a réiteach ar bhonn neamhfhoirmeálta, déanfaidh an chathaoirleach  tuairisc foirmeálta a chur os comhair an Bhoird

Má’s é tuairim an Bhoird go bhfuil an gearán gan substaint cuirfear é sin in iúl don mhúinteoir agus don ghearánaí taobh istigh de 3 lá den chruinniú Boird.

Má’s é tuairim an Bhoird go bhfuil substaint leis an ngearán nó gur ghá níos mó  iniúchadh a dhéanamh ar an gcás, déanfar amhlaidh.

Nuair atá fiosrúcháin an Bhoird curtha i gcrích ba cheart go gcuirfeadh an Cathaoirleach cinneadh an Bhoird i scríbhinn chuig an múinteoir agus chuig an ngearánaí taobh istigh de 5 lá ón gcruinniú Boird.

Ní bheidh aon dul thar chinneadh an Bhoird.

for Parents

As a school community, we are committed to upholding the ethos of our patron An Foras Patrúnachta, our school mission statement and our vision for the school in all our dealings with pupils, parents, one another and with the wider community in which our pupils live. For that reason, we will try to prevent or minimise the need for complaints where this is possible. However, given that our community is made up of human beings and that mistakes can be made, we will approach these issues in a spirit of mutual respect and tolerance for the benefit of all.

If a parent has a complaint or worry about anything to do with their child’s education or school life the parent should:

Approach the CLASS TEACHER with a view to discussing and resolving the complaint/worry

Every effort is made at this first stage to resolve the issue/complaint the parent may have and between them, the class teacher and parent(s) usually manage to resolve things.

However where the parent is unable to resolve the complaint with the class teacher she/he should approach the Principal Teacher with a view to resolving it.

In the unlikely event that the parent is unhappy with the outcome of the meetings mentioned above and that the complaint is still unresolved the parent/guardian should raise the matter with the Chairperson of the Board of Management with a view to resolving it.

If the complaint is still not resolved after carrying out the 3 steps mentioned above and the parent wishes to take the matter further he/she should put the complaint in writing to the Chairperson of the Board of Management.

If the complaint is not resolved informally the Chairperson should make a formal report to the Board.

If the Board considers that the complaint is not substantiated the teacher and the complainant should be so informed within 3 days of the Board meeting.

If the Board considers that the complaint is substantiated or that it warrants further investigation, they will do so.

When the Board has completed its investigation, the Chairperson should convey the decision of the Board in writing to the teacher and the complainant within 5 days of the meeting of the Board.

The decision of the Board shall be final.
