The aim of this Policy on Acceptable Use of the Internet is to ensure that pupils will benefit from learning opportunities offered by the school’s Internet resources in a safe and effective manner. Internet use and access is considered a school resource and privilege. If the school’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is not adhered to this privilege will be withdrawn.
The school’s AUP (which was first written in March 2006) was revised and up-dated in October 2014. It was discussed in detail at staff and Board of Management level so that everyone was clear about what it entailed and that the conditions of use were understood and accepted by all.
It is envisaged that school and parent representatives will revise the AUP on a regular basis especially as the internet changes and develops and new implementation issues arise.
