Córfhéile

Márta 2018

Since the very beginning traditional music has been an integral part of the culture of Gaelscoil Thaobh na Coille and the school’s Banna Ceoil has gone from strength to strength since then.

This year’s Banna ceoil  is no exception. On Wednesday the 7th of March 68 musicians, girls and boys from R4 to R6 took to the stage in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght for Córfhéile, a music festival for primary school children.

The banna ceoil played 4 traditional tunes arranged for a wide range of instruments, that included: tin whistles, flutes, uileann pipes, fiddles, a harp, button accordions and concertinas. The children played beautifully, with passion and spirit and we are    extremely proud of the diligence and hard work the children put into their music. Well done to all.

Míle buíochas to all the múinteoirí who work with the banna ceoil on an ongoing basis and a special go raibh maith agat to An Múinteoir Oisín Mac Muiris who arranged the pieces for this Córfhéile performance.
