Pupils Meet The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar
The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar visited Stepaside Educate Together Secondary School on Friday the 14th of September to celebrate International Democracy Day. A small group of pupils from the Stepaside Educate Together Primary school and a group of 6th class pupils from our own school were invited to attend as representatives of both primary schools.
The three schools put up stands around the hall displaying the core values of their respective schools. After making his speech and answering a couple of questions the Taoiseach went from stand to stand to meet with the pupils.
Our ‘daltaí’ explained to the Taoiseach how important the Irish language and the Irish culture was to us as a school. They told him all about the ’banna ceoil’ and how good our football and hurling teams are! They spoke about their ’ranganna rince’ and told him that they really enjoy school.
