Track Events- 28/05/2018

We had a second great day in Santry on Monday the 28th of May. The sun was splitting the stones and our athletes were excited and eager for the track events to begin. A huge congratulations to Ruth Ní hAoláin for winning a bronze medal in the U12 80m race.

6 out of our 8 rely teams made it through to the finals. What a wonderful achievement. the girls U10 rely team came 2nd and the boys I14 rely team came 3rd. Congratulations to them all.

Mile buíochas to an Múinteoir Maoilíosa Ó Dubhthaigh and an Múinteoir Máirín Ní Dhubhthaigh who trained the children for the day.

Athletics Field Events – 21/05/2018

Cumann na mBunscol’s Athletics Competition

Cumann na mBunscol’s Athletics track events were held in Santry on Monday 21st May. Comhghairdeas to all the pupils who participated in the track events in Santry. They competed in hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot putt and 600m race.  They returned to school with 7 medals and were delighted with their achievements. Ever Gaelscoil Thaobh na Coille pupil who competed in hurdles made it to the finals. Maith sibh a chailíní agus a bhuachaillí.

600m U11 – Éamon Ó Cionnaith – 3rd

600m U12 – Ruth Ní hAoláin – 2nd

600m U14 – Rian Ó Braonáin -  2nd

Pupils from the school will be heading to Santry again next week to compete in the track events.
