The pupils of Rang 6B went on a hike up Bray Head on Friday last. The bus departed the school at 9.30 a.m. and took them to the starting point of the walking trail. Within the first 5 minutes the children came across a rope swing and everyone had a chance. They saw a field full of horses and lots of beautiful flowers and plants. Either side of the footpath was covered in a thick layer of gorse . It was in full bloom and emitted a really sweet smell. The children ate their lunch at the foot of the cross that stands at the top of Bray Head. The children were surprised to find themselves walking through a herd of cattle! They climbed to the highest point of Bray Head where the views were amazing. You could see all the way from Wicklow Head to Howth and back across to Three Rock and the Dublin & Wicklow Mountains beyond. The children were exhausted after a very long but exciting and enjoyable day.
